Frequently asked questions

Why are you called New Haven Legal Centre? Is this only for lawyers?

The New Haven Legal Centre (NHLC) was originally created to predominantly service legal professionals with the office services they needed. The services provided and convenient location, near the District and Superior Court houses in particular, continue to attract lawyers, paralegals, and court reporters. Over the years, however, business owners from many professions have utilized the private offices, virtual services, and conference rooms at NHLC. Whether you require a private office because you have regular client meetings, need a corporate address to provide business legitimacy, or need the convenience of ammenities and office services to grow your business, NHLC will suit your needs.

Do you have to rent a private office for a year?

No. NHLC has many options for those that need a short-term office. We can work with you to find the right solution whether that be a 3-month option during your busy season on your own private office, or a space for just a handful of days.

What is a "Virtual Office"?

At NHLC we officer clients a Virtual Office product that provides them with a corporate address (specifically 900 Chapel Street, Suite 620) and all mail services (USPS, UPS, DHL, and Fedex). You can have your mail sent to you or pick it up. Our full-time receptionist is here to sign for packages and ensure your mail is secured. Our Virtual Office clients receive a 50% discount on conference room bookings, or can opt for the Virtual Office Plus plan that includes 10 hours of conference room time per month. In addition, you can choose to add our phone answering service so you can forward your business number to our NHLC receptionist. Your clients never need to know you are working from the comfort of home.

Why is professional video conferencing important?

Although there are many ways to communicate via a video interface today, such as on your phone, reliability and professionalism can suffer using wireless technology. To ensure video and sound quality when it's critical, you want an integrated video conferencing setup. NHLC offers this. The main camera, display, and other peripheral equipment are mounted in our conference room and you connect directly to another location over IP. Integrated video conferencing systems are ideal for global communication and when meetings are done in an official capacity, such as expert witness testimony, depositions, and board meetings. NHLC offers video conferencing during and outside of normal business hours and on weekends as needed.
